What's Selamectin powder?

Selamectin powder is a white or light yellow crystalline powder, chemically named 25-cyclohexyl-25-de-(1-methyl-propyl-5-deoxy-22, 23-dihydro-5 (oxime group) -avermectin B1 monosaccharide. The biggest difference between it and other avermectin antibiotics is that the substituent at the C5 position is oxime group, which has a strong lipopile group in its molecular structure. High lipid solubility, poor water solubility.

Selamectin is a kind of avermectin antibiotic produced by the fermentation of Streptomyce sav Ermitilis, a new strain of Streptomyce sav ermitilis. It is the first anti-animal parasite drug developed by Pfizer in the United States. It has extensive inhibition and killing effect on many parasites.It includes fleas, scabies, ticks, hookworms, lice, nematodes and dog silkworms, etc., because of the advantages of convenient use, better curative effect and small toxicity. Although the efficacy of seramectin against some nematodes (such as trichodermatodes) is not as good as other avermectin drugs (such as ivermectin and doramectin), and the efficacy and safety of seramectin against parasitic infection in mice and rabbits are insufficient. However, this drug is better than other avermectin drugs in the treatment of dog and cat fleas (Ctenocephalus felis and Ctenocephalus Canis), mites, ticks and some internal nematodes (ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm) infection, and it has a very good effect in the prevention of dog and cat filodiasis infection.
